President Tinubu Departs Paris, Returns to Nigeria After Working Vacation

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has departed Paris, France, for Nigeria after concluding his extended working vacation in Europe.
The Presidency confirmed on Tuesday that the President had begun his journey back to Nigeria, with his aircraft expected to arrive at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos later in the day.
According to the Presidency, President Tinubu chose to return through Lagos before proceeding to Abuja. His first stop in the country is connected to his plan to honour the memory of the late Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola, widely associated with Nigeria's democratic struggle.
President Tinubu had travelled out of Nigeria on August 30, initially heading to London before moving to Paris. The Presidency subsequently announced an extension of his working vacation by several days.
During his stay in France, the President held meetings involving Nigerian economic and investment interests. Among the reported engagements was a meeting with French businessman Vincent Bolloré, whose group's interests include Canal+, MultiChoice and Universal Music Group.
The President's return comes as Nigeria prepares for its 66th Independence Anniversary celebrations on October 1.
The latest development was officially announced by the State House on September 29, 2026.
